the sleeptalking Chronicles: V

Colin's had a busy week as far as sleeptalking goes!

The other night:

(He wakes up, head off the pillow, eyes closed, fake gagging for about 20 seconds.)
Me (actually genuinely concerned): "Are you okay??"
Colin: "I don't know, I'm trying to fake and not be ruined by the crappy product."

last night:

Colin: "Good job, Polly!"

the sleeptalking chronicles. (IV)

some of these sleeptalking chronicles almost seem made up, right? every time i tell Colin about them, i preface them with "i could not exaggerate or make this up if i tried." so..

Colin: "DIE.
gyuhyuhyuhyuhyuhyuhyuh. (kind of like someone is strangling him??)
...give me the bid, batch!"

don't really know what to do but laugh when my husband firmly says 'DIE.' in his sleep.

the sleeptalking chronicles. (III)

Colin sleeptalking last night: (mumbles and looks at me) "oh. i thought we were talking about pay-raises. nevermind."

..yes, my dear, sweet Colin. because we typically do talk about pay-raises and other fiscal things at 1 am.

the sleeptalking chronicles. (II)

(I get back into bed after not being able to sleep.)

Colin: I love you. I vove you. I dove you.
Me: I love you too, Colin!
Colin:.... from the bottom of my haw-uht. (think Forrest gump accent, "heart").

endlessly entertaining/endearing.

m-m-my heart like a kick drum!

1. i really do have great friends.

2. the bronze ring, with matching skinny bands to put around it. a girl can dream. i love that it's cast from the mold of an actual river rock. ah, etsy.

click picture to go to Colby June's etsy shop!

2. i want to be discipled by someone. i know that is a huge undertaking for that person, but it's biblical and i would love to have someone to pour into me, help me to grow, help me to be a better wife and lover of Jesus. also, i want to disciple someone. i saw the awesome power of a godly, loving woman in my life in highschool, and would love to (try to) be an encouragement to someone now. i'm praying for both of these things and for God to do them.

3. this song is so fun. i love the Avett Brothers unashamedly, despite how extremely trendy it is right now. there's something so consistently beautiful about family members singing together.

4. i wish that i could hang out in this tent all day and read my books.

5. last night i got up to pee in the middle of the night. from the bathroom i hear Colin talking, so i come back into the room to find him standing right in front of the door. he laughs out loud and says, "oh! hahaha, i thought that you were hiding somewhere and were going to jump out and surprise me! hahaha!" and gives me a huge, long hug, which is kind of more like him hanging on me than a hug. then he turns around and plops back into bed. he was asleep. he remembers nothing of it this afternoon.

6. i think that i lead a beautiful life. not because it's devoid of hard things, pain, or things i would change, because it's definitely not. but God is beautiful, and life is full of commitment and exploration and growth. i will choose to take pleasure in small things and (try, although it's hard) to cherish this time.

grace and peace,
the wife.

the sleeptalking chronicles.

okay. this is an ode to my most favorite husband, and the most talkative sleeper i've ever known. either his brain is just super active, or he just loves to talk, even in his sleep (everyone who knows Colin will probably take the latter:)).

since Colin usually has to get up so early in the morning, around 5 am, he goes to sleep while i read my book or do stuff on the computer/watch movies. most of the time he starts talking before i go to bed myself, and i've taken to typing them out on a word document to tell him about the next morning and to chuckle at myself.

ps. in some of them i'll put what i said back to him. sometimes i like to try and talk back to see what he'll say or keep the conversation flowing. some may call it manipulation, but i call it fun. :)

(Colin sits up and looks around)
Me: What are you doing?
Colin: um.. i just came to make adjustments.
Me: really?
Colin: yeah. size-wise. to the....um, i don't know. i can't think. i'm really tired.

Colin: Dominos...Intercourse.
Me: What's that about intercourse?
Colin: Well, how else are they going to get there?
Me: by intercourse?
Colin: yeah, some of them.

Colin: it's okay rachy. the real world has stuff that's tough to deal with in it.

Me: what are you doing?
Colin: nothing.
Me: nothing?
Colin: (smeagol voice) nothing!

(lays his head on my chest and starts mumbling)
Me: what's that?
Colin: oh, don't mind me, just talking.

(singing loudly, pausing between each word)
Colin: LUBLLLYYYYY, FLEEEEEALLLYYYY, FLILLLLLY............ okay, what are the words again?

(humming)
Colin: those freaking exits are terrible
Me: exits to where?
Colin: anywhere
(he looks at me and we both start laughing)

(grimacing)
Colin: um, kinda nasty. (groans) oh, happy dog.

(with his hands up in the air, thumbs up sign)
Colin: YES. that is a GREAT idea!

Colin: it was kinda...you know, the guys were in the middle. they were the gestapo, you know, directing flow.

i like Colin so much. he keeps me laughing, even in his sleep.

grace and peace,
the wife.
